Season 3, Episode 1 · Episode 34 of 79

The Horn of Plenty

First aired Saturday, September 28, 1985

Synopsis

Hawke is taken prisoner after delivering gems to a Texas compound, leaving Santini to decide whether to surrender Airwolf.

Episode recap

Season 3 opens with the nightmare scenario inverted: this time it's Hawke who becomes the hostage. A routine delivery of gems to a fortified Texas compound turns into captivity, and the pressure lands on Dominic Santini — the one man alive who can trade Airwolf for his friend, and the one man who understands best why he must not. "The Horn of Plenty" is a season premiere built on the series' central bargain: the Lady keeps her crew safe only as long as nobody can be leveraged. Watching Dom weigh the machine against the man is the show's whole moral engine laid bare in a single decision.
