Synopsis
Feature-length pilot: Hawke is recruited to recover the advanced helicopter Airwolf after its unstable designer, Dr. Moffet, steals it and hides it in Libya.
Episode recap
The one that started it all. Airwolf's feature-length pilot introduces the series' entire mythology in a single sweep: the most advanced helicopter ever built, the brilliant but unstable designer who created it, and the reclusive pilot who becomes the only man trusted to bring it home. When Dr. Moffet steals his own creation and vanishes into Libya, the intelligence agency that funded the project turns to Stringfellow Hawke — a decorated Vietnam pilot living alone in the mountains with his cello, his dog and his grief. Hawke's price for the mission sets up the series' longest-running thread: find his brother St. John, missing in action since the war. What follows is part espionage thriller, part aviation showcase, and the definitive blueprint for everything Airwolf would become.
