Synopsis
Hawke must stop a Vietnam War buddy from stealing a fighter jet in exchange for his half-Vietnamese son's freedom.

The first regular episode wastes no time testing where Hawke's loyalties live. A friend from his Vietnam days resurfaces in an impossible position: steal a fighter jet, or lose his half-Vietnamese son. It's a premise built squarely on the wound the pilot movie opened — the war never really ended for the men who flew in it, and family is the one lever that moves them all. Hawke has to stop the theft without destroying the man, while the episode quietly sketches what the series will keep returning to: debts between soldiers, children caught in their parents' wars, and Airwolf as the only card big enough to end a standoff. As the first 'mission of the week', it set the show's weekly rhythm in one hour.
