Synopsis
Hawke wakes from a coma to find his year-long 'recovery' is an elaborate enemy ruse designed to obtain Airwolf.
Episode recap
Hawke wakes from a coma to be told a year has passed — and everything he remembers about Airwolf is a fading dream. "Echoes from the Past" is Season 1's boldest hour, a paranoid chamber piece that swaps aerial action for psychological siege. The 'recovery' is an elaborately staged enemy operation designed to walk Hawke gently into surrendering the Lady's location, and the episode wrings real tension from small wrongnesses in the performance around him. It's the first time the series states its sharpest idea plainly: Airwolf's greatest vulnerability isn't a missile — it's the mind of the one man who knows where she sleeps.
