Synopsis
Hawke investigates stolen plutonium as Jo's dying father resurfaces and neo-Nazis chase a nuclear weapon.
Episode recap
Stolen plutonium, neo-Nazis chasing a nuclear weapon, and — in the middle of it — Jo's dying father resurfacing after a lifetime away. "Flying Home" braids the season's biggest threat with its most personal reunion, giving the penultimate episode a double meaning worthy of its title: a weapon that must not reach home, and a father trying to. The Santini family closes its arc the way the Hawke family opened the season's — with the past arriving unannounced and the clock running. It is the last mission but one, and the series spends it on the two things it always valued: family, and keeping the worst weapons out of the worst hands.
