Annie Oakley

First aired Saturday, November 16, 1985

Synopsis

Hawke and Santini must recover a stolen laser weapon before it can be smuggled to Cuba.

Episode recap

A laser weapon is stolen with a shopping destination already arranged: Cuba. Hawke and Santini have to recover it before it crosses the water and becomes a permanent feature of the hemisphere's math. "Annie Oakley" — named with a wink for America's legendary sharpshooter — is a pursuit episode built on the era's fascination with directed-energy weapons, the same year real headlines were full of 'Star Wars' missile-defense talk. The chase gives the Lady one of her cleaner assignments: find the future before it gets away, and remind everyone that for now, the fastest thing in the sky is still on the right side.
