Synopsis
Airwolf detects radioactive gas from a Russian nuclear plant; St. John crosses into Soviet airspace and is captured.
Episode recap
Airwolf's sensors detect radioactive gas bleeding from a Russian nuclear plant, and the mission crosses the one line even the Lady respects on paper: Soviet airspace. St. John goes in — and is captured. "Stavograd" Part 1 is Season 4's most ambitious swing, a two-parter written in the immediate shadow of Chernobyl, barely a year after the real disaster rewrote the world's nuclear imagination. The episode plays it straight: the meltdown is a shared human emergency, the politics a cage around it. The cliffhanger leaves the new lead in Soviet hands and the reactor still burning.
