Synopsis
Hawke pursues mercenaries who stole an advanced helicopter, suspecting a link to his missing brother St. John.

A helicopter almost as advanced as Airwolf is stolen by mercenaries, and Hawke chases it with unusual intensity — because the trail smells like it could lead to St. John. "HX-1" braids the series' two engines together: the arms-race anxiety of prototype aircraft falling into the wrong hands, and the brother-shaped hole at the center of Hawke's life. Every fragment of evidence gets weighed twice, once as intelligence and once as hope. The mercenaries are dangerous, but the real tension is watching Hawke need the lead to be true. The series knew exactly how long it could keep that wound open — years.
