Synopsis
Hawke must stop militia-trained youths from launching a nuclear missile at Washington, D.C.
Episode recap
Somewhere in America, militia-trained youths have their hands on a nuclear missile, and the target is Washington, D.C. "Where Have All the Children Gone?" borrows its title from a peace anthem and aims it like an accusation: these are children, drilled into weapons by adults with a cause. The team has to stop a launch without turning the rescue into a massacre of the very kids they're saving — a rules-of-engagement nightmare wrapped around a doomsday clock. It's Season 3's biggest-stakes hour and one of its most uncomfortable, precisely because the enemy is what was done to the children, not the children themselves.
