Condemned

First aired Saturday, January 5, 1985

Synopsis

A remote Alaskan bio-weapons facility is found abandoned and littered with dead scientists — as a Russian sub lurks offshore.

Episode recap

The team's grim new year begins in the Alaskan silence: a remote bio-weapons research facility gone dark, its scientists dead, and a Russian submarine holding position just offshore. "Condemned" is Airwolf's contribution to the contagion thriller — an investigation where the enemy might be a pathogen, a foreign power, or the facility's own secrets, and every door opened is a gamble. The frozen setting strips the show to essentials: isolation, distrust, and a countdown nobody fully understands. It's the season's coldest episode in every sense, and one of its most atmospheric.
