Desperate Monday

First aired Saturday, February 8, 1986

Synopsis

Hawke moves to rescue hostages seized aboard the Queen Mary by a band of kidnappers.

Episode recap

Hostages are seized aboard the Queen Mary — the great retired ocean liner turned landmark — and Hawke moves to take them back. "Desperate Monday" gives the series one of its most distinctive battlefields: a mile of art-deco corridors, ballrooms and steel decks, permanently moored and suddenly hostile. The kidnappers hold the geography; the team holds the initiative, if they can board without turning the ship into a tomb. It's a hostage thriller with a museum's worth of atmosphere, and a reminder that Airwolf's crew do some of their best work with the Lady waiting offshore.
